Out of the six I have, “This is Dedicated” by the Mamas & the Papas was the most well worn but playable, while “Louie Louie” by the Kingsmen might have been just as bad had there not been for a Parties Over Scratch about thirty seconds in. I think I grabbed those singles when I grabbed the Beatles records out of a box in the garage when I was sixteen and wanted to see what all the fuss was about. My mom had a great record collection, from what I remember it was like a greatest hits collection of the sixtes and early seventies. Before I could appreciate them I just remember looking at the covers and being amused by Blind Faith and Big Brother and the Holding Company. But they’re gone now. I went to England and dad cleaned out the garage. I wish I had them. Of the ones I have, they all have “Cindy” written on them, which is something I wish she would have been around to teach me before I had all my CDs stolen back in 02, as I would have had a better chance of getting them back from the used CD store if they had my name on them.
